Charger problems with Acer Predator Helios 300 PH317-55

Ive been having issues with laptop lately while plugged in, PC keeps beeping and blinking while getting frame freezes and distorted sound. eventually with light on PC blinks are same time and PC acts like its not plugged in.

Since laptop works perfectly on battery i think its a issue with the adapter
The wired thing is that my charger is 330W while all the replacement chargers are 230W!

This is a laptop i bought new and now im not sure if the charger it came with from the factory is actually suited for this PC.

Note that PC worked for 2 years before issue started happing

Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated

It seems like you’re experiencing charging issues with your Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-55). The symptoms you described, such as beeping, blinking, frame freezes, and distorted sound, could indeed be related to a power supply problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Original Charger:

If the laptop came with a 330W charger, it’s essential to use the original charger that came with the laptop. Using an underpowered charger can lead to insufficient power delivery and cause various issues.
Inspect the Charger and Cable:

Check the charger and power cable for any physical damage. Bent or frayed cables can result in poor connections. If there is damage, consider getting a replacement charger.
Try a Different Outlet:

Plug the charger into a different power outlet to ensure that the issue is not related to the power source.
Update BIOS/UEFI:

Check if there are any BIOS or UEFI updates available for your laptop on Acer’s official website. Sometimes, firmware updates can address power-related issues.
Check Power Settings:

Verify your power settings in Windows to ensure that they are configured correctly. Go to “Control Panel” > “Power Options” and make sure the settings are appropriate for your usage.
Remove and Reinsert the Battery:

If your laptop has a removable battery, try removing it and reinserting it after a few seconds. This can sometimes reset power-related issues.
Hardware Diagnostics:

Run hardware diagnostics provided by Acer. These diagnostics may help identify if there are any hardware issues with the power components.
Contact Acer Support:

If the issue persists, especially since your laptop is still under two years old, it’s recommended to contact Acer’s customer support. They can provide assistance, and if the laptop is still under warranty, they may offer a replacement or repair.
Using an underpowered replacement charger could potentially harm your laptop and is not recommended. Stick to the original charger provided by the manufacturer to ensure proper power delivery. If you need a replacement charger, consider contacting Acer’s customer support for guidance on obtaining the correct one for your laptop model.
